FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Yet another Fairbanks Ice Dog has made an NCAA Division 1 commitment.
This time they will be staying in Fairbanks as Samuel Ruffin has committed to UAF.
The 5 foot 10, 170 pound forward from Westfield Indiana will be playing hockey for the Nanooks next season.
Ruffin started playing for the dogs at the beginning of last season.
Last year he played in 58 games and earned 30 points with 11 goals and 19 assists.
He is already on pace to reach that again this year. In his 20 games played this season he has 13 points off of four goals and nine assists.
His best game of the year so far came when the Ice Dogs hosted the Brookings Blizzard.
He scored 3 points thanks to two assists and a goal to help the Dogs cruise to a 5-1 victory. Congratulations on the Commitment Sam, we can't wait to see you in Blue and Gold.
