FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will be continuing their playoff stay in Minnesota when they take on the Minnesota Magicians.
But before we get into that series, one member of the Ice Dogs earned an NAHL Honor.
Jonathan Sorenson was named the NAHL Rookie of the Year.
Sorenson led the Ice Dogs in scoring in the regular season, finishing the year with 56 points thanks to 17 goals and 39 assists.
The St. Louis Park Minnesota native was also named to the NAHL All-Midwest Division team.
He has also made an NCAA Commitment and will be playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the fall.
Before that, however, Sorenson and the rest of the Ice Dogs have unfinished business.
They will be playing game three of their Midwest Division Final Series against the Minnesota Magicians.
The Dogs, who are undefeated in the Playoffs so far, only need one more win to advance to the Robertson Cup Championships.
They lead the Magicians 2-0 in this best of five series and will have a chance to finish the sweep tomorrow.
The game will take place at 4:15pm Alaska Time.
