I-5 for the week of May 6th-12th

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We're going to start off the week with some soccer action. Monroe Catholic's Nathan Walsh takes this corner kick in with a header, dinking it off the post and into the back of the net. The Rams are still undefeated this season.

Next up we have West Valley pitcher Gus Jensen, who returned to the mound for the first time since tearing his ACL last season. Jensen stepped in for an inning of relief and didn't allow a hit on 18 pitches.

Sticking with Baseball action, Monroe pitcher Gabe Silas is able to show off some insane reflexes, catching the ball as it leaves the bat to secure the out. He then forces another runner back onto third base.

Next up have Daniel Crutcher from the North Pole soccer team. Crutcher takes full advantage of this free kick in the final minutes of the game to tie the Monroe Catholic Rams. His clutch goal forced a 2-2 tie. The Patriots and the Rams will meet again this week, this time for the Mid Alaska Conference title.

And number one this week is the biggest softball rally we've seen this year. Monroe Catholic was down 13-4 against Eielson heading into the final inning. They also saw two of their batters go out early on. The Rams were able to complete their two-out rally, capped off by this RBI triple from Marian "Mimi" Nelson, to steal a 14-13 win.
