FAIRBANKS, Alaska - It's Monday, which means it's time to look back at the top plays of last week on the I-5.
"Starting off the I-5 this week's is the first Basketball action in the Patty Center this season. In the Nanook Women's Basketball team's Alumni game, Angela Murnion collects the pass from Sabrina Ungaro and nails a picture perfect 3-pointer. The Nanooks will open their season against the Oregon Ducks next Tuesday.
We head to High School Volleyball for the Next spot on the I-5, where Monroe Catholic's Chloe Maynard continued to do what she does best. In Monroe's senior night matchup against the Valdez Buccaneers, Maynard sees the kill coming and completely shuts it down with a thunderous block.
Next up we have this Hoss fight from the West Valley Red/Gold tournament. In this 285 pound matchup, North Pole's Omar Perez appeared to be going down, but was able to shift his momentum for this picture perfect hip toss. This was a first round matchup in the Gold Bracket.
In number two we have North Pole Volleyball's Madyson Conley who delivers a volleyball version of a curveball, threading the needle between the arms of two Lathrop Defenders. North Pole would go on to win this contest 3-1 and secure the #2 seed in the MAC Championship Tournament.
And in #1 we have Hutchison's Noah Palmer. Palmer won two different individual region championships and one as a member of Hutch's relay team, but his most dominant performance was in the 200 yard individual medley, where he defeated the next fastest swimmer by nearly 10 seconds. Palmer will now head down to the State Championships."
