Hutchison hosts North Pole in non-conference match

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 3A Hawks faced the Patriots in an endowment game hosted by Hutchison last night. And even though it does not count toward either team's record, there was a contest held at the door where all earnings went to the Alaska School Activities Association. Hutchison also had a bit of celebration for winning this match 72-52.
The Hawk's energy was at its max with the first quarter, handling a 19-9 lead going into the second. This could entirely be attributed to the performance of sophomore Deion Frank who sank a triple threat of 3-point shots from the peak of the arc. As soon as Deion took charge the rest of the cavalry followed in suit. This power brought the team to a 41-29 lead by the end of the first half. Deion, along with four other teammates, also finished the night with double-digit individual scores. Members including Mason Young, who led the team in points made with 19, Cormac Kesey just behind with 17, Ross Matherly contributed a personal score of 12 and Frank finished the night with 10.
On the Patriots side we'll find Alex Garcia who led his own team in points with 18, Kenny Peterson with 13 and Juan Sanchez who claimed a total of 12.
All in all this game ended with excellent results that hyped Hutchison for their appearance at the Lime Solar/Pepsi Invitational held in Anchorage early next year.
