Hutchison Hockey downs Monroe Catholic

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Hutchison Hawks hosted the Monroe Catholic Rams in an Aurora conference hockey matchup at the Patty Center last night.
Hutchison was victorious, defeating the Rams 6-3.
After allowing a goal early on, The Hawks were able to ride the momentum of a four-goal first period to victory, scoring 1 in each of the next two frames to secure the win.
Blake Sanford led the Hawks in scoring with two goals, one in the first period and one in the second.
Rider Thompson, Sam Sattler, Ben Skillie, and Corbin Layral also lit the lamp for the home squad.
Ryker Snow was able to provide the assists on half of Hutchison's goals.
Caleb Sanborn led Monroe Catholic with two goals, including the first one of the game, while Antonio Szumigala also found the back of the net.
We caught up with Sanford after his team secured their first conference win of the year.
"It's been a little rough at the start, but we're slowly getting our team chemistry this win really helps us get together as a team. Hopefully we can get a hot start going," said Sanford.
