Hutch volleyball sweeps Wolfpack

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) In an inter-conference matchup, the Hutchison Hawks volleyball program made another impressive showing Thursday night.

The Hawks swept the West Valley Wolfpack in straight sets, and remain undefeated on the young season.
Hutch was anchored by Jayda Russell's eight kills and three huge blocks, while Bri Majors chipped in 19 digs on the defensive side. Hutch had control of the net all game, never allowing the Wolfpack more than 18 points in a set, who were led by Pam Noll's 8 kills. With a slightly smaller roster than most schools, every member of the team plays a big role on the team.

"It's really cool to see the JV girls step up and especially since we are a small team we know we need to work as hard as possible to get points and score and it's really good for the JV girls to come up and be as good as they are to the team, it really helps."
Hutchison's Jayda Russell said after the victory.

The 3-0 Hawks will visit Lathrop for a match on Tuesday. West Valley will try to avenge this loss when they host Hutchison next Thursday.
