Hutch Boys and Monroe Catholic girls win 3A titles at Region Track Championships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Monroe Catholic won the girl's side of the competition while Hutch took the Boy's. ​
We'll start with the Girl's events where reigning state Champion Hailey Williams took the 100, 200, and 400 meter races for the Delta Huskies. ​
Monroe Catholic began their championship efforts with Katie Bast, who won the 800 and 3200 meter races. ​
Erin Hendricks also won the 300 meter hurdles for the Rams, who also won all but one of the relays. ​
The other relay was won by Hutchison. ​
Speaking of the Hawks, Natalie Clemente took the 1600 meter race to account for the Hawks' individual victory. ​
Jolie Lucas took home the 100 meter hurdles title for Eielson. ​
In the throwing events, Valdez's Hunter Pope took the shot put and Galena's Shelby Killingsworth won the Discus. ​
Kassandra Howard took the High Jump for Valdez while Brenna Marchuk took the Long and Triple jumps for Delta. ​
And in the boy's events, Owen Chadwick won the 100 and 200 meter dashes for Valdez while Nathan Walsh and Landon Nicholson won the 400 and 800 meter races respectively. ​
Jordan Higbee also brought home a title for Monroe Catholic, winning the 1600 meter race. ​
And for Hutchison, Cormac Kesey won the 800 while Preston Silas took the 3200. ​
In the hurdles, Garren Nicholson won the 110 meter for Monroe while Chadwick won the 300 meter for Valdez. ​
The throwing events were split between Galena and Eielson as Koby Wightman won the Shot Put for Galena and Joey Rodriguez won the Discus for the Ravens. ​
in the jumping events, Valdez's Kyler LaBonte won the High Jump, Delta's James Caslin took the long jump, and the Triple Jump was won by Eielson's Zoltan Holmly. ​
Monroe Catholic won two of the relays while Valdez took the 4x100 and Hutch won the 4x800. ​
Next up is the State Championships in Anchorage.​
