Goldpanners to start 60th season on the road

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The long wait is over and the summer baseball season is finally here.
The Alaska Goldpanners will open their 60th season on the road. ​
The boys of summer will be in Washington State for their first two games of the season, taking on the Northwest Honkers. ​
The Panners will be led for the second consecutive season by returning manager Miles Kizer. ​
One player will also be returning to Fairbanks for the Summer. ​
Portland State Outfielder Blake Porter will be playing his second season for the Panners. ​
After they play the Honkers this Friday and Saturday, the Goldpanners will play in Growden Park for the first time on June 11th against the Fairbanks Men's League. ​
On the 12th, they will start their first seven game series of the year, hosting the San Diego Waves from the 12th until the 18th. ​
The main event of Summer sports in the Interior, the Midnight Sun Game, will take place on June 21st with first pitch scheduled for 10pm. ​
