The Goldpanners finished their season on a sour note after losing to the San Francisco Seals Monday night.
Their offense was silenced by the strong pitching from the Seals' pitcher, Alex Gurreo, as he only allowed seven hits and one run. The one run was driven in by the outfielder from Salt Lake Community College, Mitch Berryhill, in the seventh inning, with the Goldpanners losing 6-1.

Berryhill has had a very strong performance during the series, hitting for .467, knocking in two home runs, and 11 RBI's.

The sour note to the game wasn't the loss to the Seals, but it was losing shortstop Jordan Ross to an injury at the top of the first.
Ross was hit by a batted ball, in which damaged the nail on his thumb. Ross has been the defensive cornerstone for the Goldpanners, with that the injury could be felt across the team. Despite the loss, the Goldpanners won the series 6 to 1 over the Seals. Overall, Alaska outscored their opponets over the seven game series 67 to 35. This was also the last game of the season for the Goldpanners. They finished the season with a record of 29 wins and nine losses. It has been a successful season for the second year independent summer college team, coming in second in both tournaments they competed in.
