First game is first loss for UAF Men's Basketball in match against Chaminade Silverswords

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The first game has come to an end for the Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team yesterday, resulting in what is also the first loss for the team this season. Their matchup with the Chaminade Silverswords in Honolulu ended 69-67 and brought the team to 0-1 in GNAC on the season.
In team stats Alaska shot 22 for 60 from the floor, 10 for 27 from beyond the arc and 13 for 21 from the free throw line. Tymoryae Glover contributed to the team's performance with 19 points, the highest out of any one player in the match. He also went 6 for 16 from the field, 1 for 5 from three-point range, and scored 6 out of the 10 free-throw shots.
Spencer Sweet, a junior guard for the nooks shot 4 for 4 beyond the arc, ending the night with 12 points, and Michael Kluting led everyone in rebounds with 10 in total.
Alaska will face Chaminade once again today to close their GNAC season opening games in Honolulu.
