FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will begin their year-end road trip down in Minnesota where they will take on the Minnesota Magicians in a two game series this Friday and Saturday.
The last time these two teams were on the ice was the first time that the Ice Dogs played at the Big Dipper this year.
The Magicians swept that series back in October, winning the first game 3-2 in a shootout and the second game 5-3.
Since that series, the Ice Dogs have improved to 15-5-3-2 overall this year and to first place in the NAHL Midwest Division.
They are one point ahead of the Janesville Jets.
The Magicians are 14-10-1-1 so far this year and are holding down third place in the Midwest, only 5 points behind the Ice Dogs.
This is the start of a road trip that will close out 2017 for the Dogs.
They will play Coullee Next Weekend and then Johnstown on December 30th and the 31st.
They will return to the big dipper Ice Arena on January 12th.
