FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs finished up a weekend sweep of the Chippewa Steel on Saturday with a 4-3 win in Overtime.
Fairbanks jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Chippewa was able to fight back and tie it up.
The Dogs took the lead one more time in the third period, but the Steel tied it up once again.
This forced an overtime period but the dogs were able to cut that short, scoring on a game-winning goal by Jack Johnston 2 minutes and 42 seconds in.
Luke Ciolli, Jonathan Sorenson, and Lucas Erickson accounted for the other Ice Dog scores while goaltender Nate Reid finished the day with 24 saves.
This win, coupled with Friday Night's victory, accounted for the first home sweep of the season for the Ice Dogs, which improves them to 5-6-01 overall.
They will now be on the road for a weekend series against the Corpus Christy Ice Rays.
