Fairbanks Ice Dogs prepare to host Shreveport Mudbugs in Weekend series

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will be looking to rebound from last weekends sweep at the hands of the Minnesota Magicians when they host the Shreveport Mudbugs this Friday and Saturday at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
Last weekend the Dipper was packed as the Dogs were playing at home for the first time all season.
Caleb Hite earned a Hat Trick on Saturday for his team's only goals of the night, and was named second star of the week in the NAHL Midwest Division.
The Dogs are sitting at 2nd place in the Midwest and will be looking to keep that spot and improve on their 7-3-2 record.
That's this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
Trevor Stewart; Had Coach - Fairbanks Ice Dogs>>"The Community is really behind us and we're really behind the community. Unfortunately we didn't get the results that we wanted but it was a really cool experience. Especially for our players who hadn't played in front of the fans before. Credit to the Magicians, they did a good job. But Caleb had a really strong game, and we didn't have enough guys with strong enough games to allow us to create any results. So it's a little bit frustrating but we're excited that he has those capabilities. We just have to be hungrier, it's been talked about and worked on throughout the course of this week. Shreveport is a really good team. Obviously, their record is good, they're coming off of a tough loss to Kenai River so they're gonna be hungry. They're a veteran-laden group. They've got some guys that will make some stuff happen. There's not many holes in their game. So it's gonna be good hockey as long as we come out to compete."
