Fairbanks Ice Dogs prepare for Three Game Home series against Kenai River

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Ice Dogs General Manager Rob Proffit must be in the giving mood for the Holidays because we will have a special three game series this weekend against the Kenai River Brown Bears.
The Dogs will be in action on Thursday Friday and Saturday.
The Dogs are coming off of a big weekend sweep of the Brown Bears that saw them win 7-0 on Friday Night and 5-2 on Saturday.
The two wins brought the dogs up to 13-5-2-2 on the year and first place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 30 conference points.
The Dogs also moved their lead in the RAVN Alaska Cup series up to 3 games to 1.
Defenseman Luke Orysiuk earned some league honors as he was named the Midwest Division's Star of the Week for his four assists this weekend.
After this series the dogs will be on the road until 2018, so this series is your last chance to see them in action this year.
Thursday's game will start at 7 while the other two games are set for 7:30.
Trevor Stewart; Head Coach - Fairbanks Ice Dogs>>: "It was huge for us. We've not found a way to Sweep in, I think, five weeks previous. So, very important for us especially getting points and moving up in the standings. We are where we expect and want to be in the standing right now. But we've got a big three game set against a team that, y'know, there was some animosity to finish the weekend. It's gonna be a big test. The Standings aren't up in the locker room. Obviously they're aware of where we are in the situation. As the season progresses we focus on getting better every single day. That will take care of itself and in the second half hopefully we're putting the standings up and we're in a good position."
