Fairbanks Ice Dogs lose overtime heartbreaker to Minot Minotauros

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs also split their weekend series against the Minot Minotauros with a 4-3 overtime loss on Saturday Night.
This game also saw a slow start as neither team scored in the first period of play.
The second period was an entirely different story as both teams scored twice to make it a tie game going into the final frame.
Minot scored first in the third period but the Ice Dogs were able to tie it up to force overtime.
The Minotauros were then able to score 4 minutes and 22 seconds into the five minute overtime period.
The dogs got their goals from Tanner Schachle, Samuel Ruffin, and Daniel Haider, who scored in the third period to force Overtime.
John Stampohar, Jake Willets, Luke Orysiuk, Robert Blueger, Erkka Vanska, and Caleb Hite all dished out an assist for the Dogs.
Josh Benson earned 15 saves in his 64 minutes in goal on Saturday.
The Dogs are now 11-5-2-2 on the year.
They are now tied with Minnesota for second place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 26 conference points.
The Dogs will be off this weekend for Thanksgiving, but will return to action when they host the Kenai River Brown Bears in a 3 game series starting on November 30th.
