FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs were able to finish off a weekend sweep over the Corpus Christi Ice Rays on Saturday night in dramatic fashion.
They defeated the Rays 3-2 in overtime.
Both teams scored once in the opening period but the Ice Dogs were able to take a 2-1 lead in the second period.
Unfortunately for the Dogs, the Rays were able to tie it up with a goal less than a minute into the third frame.
They held tight on defense to force overtime, where the Ice Dogs were able to secure a victory thanks to a game-winning goal by Noah Wilson 4 minutes into the Overtime period.
The Dogs will continue their road trip through the Southern Division with a series this weekend against the Topeka Road Runners in Kansas.
