Fairbanks Ice Dogs fall in game one of Robertson Cup Semi-finals

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Robertson Cup Championships began earlier today down in Blaine, Minnesota, and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs began their best of three series.
This was definitely not the start they were hoping for, falling 7-2 to the Johnstown Tomahawks.
The Ice Dogs actually got on the board first with a goal less than a minute and a half into the game.
Johnstown, who finished the year with the best record in the league, tied it up in the first and then gave themselves a lead they would never relinquish in the second period.
The Dogs would score one more goal at the end of the middle frame, but Johnstown responded with four unanswered goals in the third period to secure the win.
Parker Brown and Noah Wilson netted the goals for Fairbanks while Dylan Abbott, Jonathan Sorenson, Ty Proffitt, and Tyler Deweese all finished with an assist.
Carson Briere led the Tomahawks in scoring, who saw their seven goals scored by six different players.
Carter McPhail secured the win in goal for Johnstown, stopping 28 of the 30 shots fired his way.
The Dogs will have to respond in a big way tomorrow to keep their Robertson Cup dreams alive.
This is a best of three series so the Dogs have to win tomorrow and force a game three on Sunday.
