FAIRBANKS, Alaska - 21 wins in a row. That's what the Fairbanks Ice Dogs were able to accomplish last night when they defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 7-2.
The Dogs dominated this entire game.
Scoring one goal in the first period, adding four more in the second and then closing it out with two in the third.
The majority of the goals were scored by different players, but Jack Johnston led the team with two goals.
Robert Blueger, Connor Chilton, Samuel Ruffin, John Stampohar, and Tanner Schachle all found the back of the net.
Schachle finished the day with four points after adding three assists, while Ruffin and Jax Murray both dished out two.
Chilton, Blueger, Johnston, Grant Ledford, Daniel Haider, and Kyle Mayhew all finished with one assist.
Logan Neaton got the start in goal last night and stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced to help secure the win.
The Ice Dogs now have a winning streak old enough to legally drink and are 36-5-3-2 on the year.
They are the winningest team in the NAHL.
They, along with the Philadelphia Rebels and Shreveport Mudbugs, have already locked in playoff spots when the Robertson Cup Playoffs begin.
The Ice Dogs will now head down to Texas next weekend to face the Lone Star Brahmas.
