FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Interior's two Legion squads squared off at Marlin Field Wednesday for a non-league game.
The Fairbanks Post 11 49ers outlasted the Alaska Post 30 Wild 10-9 in a back and forth affair.
The 49ers got out to a substantial 8 to 1 lead after 2 innings, but the Wild did not take a back seat.
Alex Garcia flipped the momentum with an inside the park home run in the third inning, sparking the comeback effort for North Pole.
In the final fram, the Wild found themselves trailing 4 runs and were down to their final out. Post 30 saw their next six batters reach base, pushing three runs across the plate.
However, Isaac Roehl stopped the bleeding when he stepped on the mound for the 49ers, securing the final out and the save.
Wyatt Kramer finished 2 for 4 with a run batted in for the Wild, while William Boswood collected three RBI's for the 9ers in the victory.
Fairbanks is now 3-1 against Post 30 this season.
The Wasilla Warriors Legion team will visit Fairbanks this weekend, where they will face each of the Interior Legion teams two times apiece.
