Eielson earns dominant win over defending state champions

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Eielson Ravens were also able to earn a dominant conference win, defeating the reigning State Champion Barrow Whalers 44-6.
Ryan Armour put the team on his back, finishing the day with 290 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Colin Donahue and Payton Devaughn also added rushing touchdowns to bring the Dirty Birds to victory.
The defense nearly pitched a shutout, only allowing one touchdown run with 3 seconds left in the first half.
Armour and Brock Renson both earned solo sacks while Donue earned an interception.
This was a revenge game in multiple aspects.
Barrow defeated Eielson in the regular season last year, but it was also a big day for Armour.
The 2017 season came to an end for the former offensive lineman because of an injury he sustained during that loss.
On Saturday he was able to come back in a big way.
"It meant a lot. Going to Barrow, getting knocked down, carried off the field, it's a very sad feeling. You feel like it's going to be your last play. Being able to get the opportunity to come back and play them again and run for four touchdowns and over 200 yards... It's an amazing feeling. Holding the defending state champions to only six points, and scoring 36 on them or whatever we had, that's a pretty great accomplishment just for the team itself," said Armour.
The Ravens will look to continue their roll against another Aurora Conference opponent when they host the Valdez Buccaneers on Saturday.
