FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Softball championships also came to an end on Saturday.
The Division 1 Bracket saw a wild ride for a repeat champion.
East Anchorage defeated Dimond in back to back games to win the double-elimination tournament and win their second consecutive state title.
In the first championship game, East defeated Dimond 7-2.
Laila Tosi brought home five of those runners to lead the team on offense.
Lexie Davis pitched the entire game for East, finishing with three strikeouts.
Since this was a double-elimination tournament, this forced an extra game to be played, where the Thunderbirds finally put the Lynx away for good with an 11-2 victory.
Khiana Smith led the T-Birds this time around, finishing with three hits for four RBIs and two scores.
Lexie Davis pitched all five innings, only allowing four hits and striking out two.
The Thunderbirds began this tournament with a loss to the West Valley Wolfpack, and fought their way up through the consolation bracket to earn their second state title in as many years.
And the last bit of weekend action from Anchorage was the Division two softball championship, which also saw an if-necessary game to crown the champion.
Ketchikan and Sitka squared off for the Division 2 title.
Ketchikan handed the Wolves their first loss of the tournament in a 22-9 effort.
Grace Clark finished with six RBIs to lead the Queen Salmon offense.
Lianne Guevarra earned the win in the pitching circle, allowing two hits in 3.1 innings of work.
Since that was Sitka's first loss, this forced an if-necessary game where the Wolves got their revenge and their state championship, winning 11-3.
Tyla Gleason led Sitka at-bat, bringing home 4 RBIs.
Makenna Smith pitched three innings, striking out three.
This was the seventh state title for the Sitka Softball team and their first since 2015.
