Darkness forces an 18-18 tie for Lathrop and Hutchison Flag teams

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We had a late game on the Turf Fields last night, where the Hutchison Hawks hosted the Lathrop Malemutes.
This game didn't start until 7:30, which led to a bit of an anticlimactic ending.
These teams faught to an 18-18 tie.
The Malemutes put the first two scores up on the board, building a 12-0 lead after a touchdown pass from Aniya Tuck to Saige Borrego.
Lianna Tuck then ripped the ball away from Hutch Quarterback Hunter Taylor to bring their lead up to 12.
Hutchison was able to force a couple turnovers of their own on their way to tying it up, both touchdowns coming off of Hunter Taylor passes.
Yet another turnover that saw Hutchison pick off an attempted lateral gave the Hawks an 18-12 lead.
Aniya Tuck scrambled into the endzone with about a minute left in the game to tie it up at 18.
Now, normally this would lead to overtime after regulation came to an end, but since it was getting too dark to play and there are no lights on the Turf fields, this one was ruled a tie.
The Malemutes are now 4-3-1 overall and Hutch is 3-2-1.
Lathrop will take on West Valley on Friday night and Hutch will be heading down south.
They will face Chugiak on Friday night.
