Brent Sass takes lead out of Circle in 2019 Yukon Quest

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Believe it or not, we are nearing the home stretch of the 2019 Yukon Quest.
It's setting up to be a dramatic finish with all four of the top mushers currently near Circle.
The top four were resting in the checkpoint early this afternoon, but Brent Sass gave himself the advantage by being the first to check out at around 1:45.
He is followed by Allen Moore, who left soon after Sass as the two mushers head to Central.
Hans Gatt, and Michelle Phillips and Paige Drobny are all resting in Central.
Remember that the mushers are in action as we speak, and these standings can change at any time.
Our current red lantern holder is Laura Allaway, who is approaching the mandatory layover in Eagle.
We do have an additional scratch to report as Lisbet Norris scratched last night, citing the best interest of her team.
We should be getting our first finishers in the 2019 Quest here in Fairbanks early next week, possibly on Monday.
