FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Track Season got officially underway last night with the Big C Relays in the Anchorage Dome.
Our Top Interior representatives took the top spots in the High Jump and the 400 Meter Dash.
We'll start with the Dash, which was won by Delta's Hailey Williams.
Williams, the reigning state champion in the event, picked up right where she left off last year, winning the 400 meter race in 57.73 seconds.
Damecia Jones from Bartlett took second with a 59.35 second time.
Our other top interior finisher represented Lathrop High School as Riley Knott tied for first in the Boys High Jump.
Knott was able to clear five feet, ten inches, which was the same mark as Sitka's Garrison Lass.
Thomas Christian from South Anchorage took third with a height of five feet and nine inches.
Other top three finishes from our Interior competitors include West Valley runner Camron Herron, who took second in the Boy's 400 meter dash, finishing just 5 tenths of a second behind the top finisher.
And in the relays, our top interior team was the West Valley Boys, who took fourth in the distance medley in 11 minutes and 31 seconds.
The Big C relays will continue today down in the Dome.
