FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Nanooks were able to get on the board first, scoring in the second period.
However, the third period saw the Lakers score four unanswered goals to secure the win.
Ryker Leer scored the lone goal for the Nanooks thanks to a Power-Play 15 minutes and 49 seconds into the second period.
Hometown team captain Justin Woods and James LaDouce both dished out an assist for the Nooks while Goaltender Anton Martinsson was able to stop 27 of the shots fired his way.
Friday's win brought the Nooks out of the three way tie for 8th place in the WCHA.
However, Saturday's loss brought the Nooks to 3-9-3 overall and 2-5-3 in Conference play.
They are now tied once again with Lake Superior State for seventh place in the WCHA.
Both teams have 11 points.
They are five points behind Alabama Hunstville and Ferris State, who are tied for fifth.
The Nanooks will return to Alaska to take on the UAA Seawolves down in Anchorage on December 8th and 9th.
