Joining them is one group from the 49th state that is going to perform and that is the North Star All-Stars cheer leading program.

"Looking forward to meeting new people and going to see everything that’s there,” said Lindsey Crooker of the North Star All-Stars. “I've been there before but we didn't really do that much, because I was with my group and we went shopping. Excited to go and see all the cool experiences."

The group is full of young kids performing a sport they love, and for some of them it’s all about chance to go to New York.

"I feel excited and grateful for the opportunity to go. Have fun with it, and with the people." said North Stars Angie Gonsalez.

The North Star All-Stars will be representing the state of Alaska and the Interior during the biggest parade in the world. Some of the moms are also excited because these kids get to experience something new.

"Oh it's totally awesome I can't wait for my daughter to go down to New York and the see the Statue of Liberty they get to see a Broadway play, they get to possibly go down to the Today Show,” said Gretchen Nolan, who has a daughter in the program. “The fact that they get to see all the big lights and the buildings is amazing and make new friends it's going to be an awesome experience."

One of the moms has been here before, and knows what is in store for her youngest daughter.

"It's really amazing, the first time I sent my daughter who's now 18 she was 16 when she went,” said Salina Fountain. “I cried like a baby because I'm a mom. She got to do some amazing things while there and having this opportunity was amazing for her and now being able to see my youngest daughter do the same thing is pretty amazing."

The North Star All-Stars leave this weekend for the Big Apple, and represent Fairbanks in the Macy's Day Parade.
