FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Now that March Madness is officially in full swing, it's time to turn our focus to the ASAA State Championships that our interior teams will be competing in at the 3A and 4A level.
The tournament starts tomorrow so let's do a little Alaskan Bracketology.
We'll start with the 4A bracket, which saw our highest seeding from the Interior.
The West Valley Girls are the #2 seed, and will take on the seventh seeded Chugiak Mustangs.
The Wolfpack girls earned the Mid Alaska Conference Championship after going undefeated in Conference play for the second consecutive season.
If the Wolfpack defeat Chugiak in round one, they will face the winner of the Bartlett Wasilla first round contest.
The West Valley Boys also earned a spot in the 4A Bracket.
The MAC Champions were named the seventh seed and will have the tough task of taking on Colony in the first round.
The Wolfpack also went undefeated in MAC play this year while Colony went 21-3 overall behind Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year Sullivan Menard.
The winner of that matchup will take on either Dimond or Palmer in the second round.
Now looking at the 3A Bracket, the boy's side will have three teams from the Aurora Conference competing.
The Conference Champion, and second seeded, Valdez Buccaneers will be taking on the Monroe Catholic Rams, who earned an at-large bid to take the seventh seed.
The winner of that contest will face either Grace Christian or Barrow.
And the runners-up in the Aurora, the Eielson Ravens, will be the fifth seed and will take on the Nome-Beltz Nanooks in the opening round.
The winner of that contest will play either Sitka or Anchorage Christian.
The Aurora Conference representatives in the girl's brackets are the #2 seed Galena Hawks, and the sixth seeded conference champion Valdez.
This double-elimination tournament will begin at 8am tomorrow in Anchorage, with the championship games set for Saturday.
