FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The University of Alaska Fairbanks is hosting a competition that allows people to submit an invention they believe has the potential to make a difference in Alaska.
The Invent Alaska Competition has a grand prize of $7,500 and assistance to license, patent and commercialize an invention.
Students, staff and faculty can submit any type of product, software, composition, or method of doing something.
The Arctic Innovation Competition is about submitting ideas, but this competition is about presenting an invention ready to be patented.
The office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization at UAF wants to help people committed to their projects move their ideas forward.

The competition runs through the end of the 2017-2018 school year. The application deadline is April 27th, 2018.
