UAF campus vandalized with graffiti

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The University of Alaska Fairbanks got a rude awakening this morning after finding someone had glued posters, and spray painted messages all across the lower campus late last night. The vandalism said "Keep CLA weird."

Marmian Grimes, a spokesperson for UAF, said it appears the graffiti was done by both students and employees.

A Facebook post on the College of Liberal Arts page said, "This is unacceptable and is considered defacement of public property. It is vandalism, and thus goes against what we hold true about the message of higher education and the liberal arts."

Grimes said it's too early to know what will be done to those responsible for the graffiti and that they are still looking into the incident.

Facility Services was busy for the majority of the day removing the hot pink spray paint from buildings and objects.
