Two North Pole residents found dead from murder, suicide

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Just after midnight this past Tuesday, two people were found dead by Alaska State Troopers inside a garage at a residence on Airline Drive in North Pole. The deceased have been identified as Rona Hooker, 38, and Tana Miller, 44, both of North Pole. According to Trooper spokeswoman, Megan Peters, the two adults were known to each other and had a relationship.

Peters added that the deaths appeared to be the result of a murder, suicide in which Miller killed Hooker before turning a gun on himself. She says the two likely died sometime in the days leading up to December 18. The report on trooper dispatch also states that Miller was reportedly suicidal in the months leading up to this incident.

Next of kin have been notified, and it does not appear that anyone else was involved in the deaths. The investigation is ongoing.
