Troopers seek public help in finding missing Eagle River woman

FAIRBANKS, Alaska The Alaska State Troopers are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman from Eagle River, Alaska.

Shanna Marie Oman, 39, was reportedly last seen leaving a home off of McGrath Road on June 3rd and hasn’t been seen since. AST began investigating her disappearance after receiving a call for a welfare check on June 9th. The complainant was supposed to give her a ride back to Eagle River; he assumed she made other arrangements until her roommate called stating she had not returned home.

According to AST dispatch Oman was at a cabin near 23 mile Chena Hot Springs Road right before she went missing but according to the owner of the cabin Oman ‘walked away’ on June 4th. The cabin owner is cooperating with AST and searches have been done of the cabin and surrounding property, which borders the Chena River.

The last ping on Oman’s cell phone was near the area of 17 mile on CHSR on June 4th. AST Helo-2 has flown the area, to include the Chena River. PAWS Search and Rescue dogs have also checked the area. No signs of Oman have been found.
