ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say that before he was hit, a pedestrian killed last week in an Anchorage hit-and-run crash had been lying in the street for more than an hour and was covered with a blanket by a passer-by. Police on Wednesday identified the man killed as 36-year-old Dwayne Nelson. Investigators interviewed the driver believed to have been involved in the fatal crash. The driver was released and no charges have been filed.

North Pole police is looking for anyone to call with information in relation to a dog that attacked a child and bit them multiple times. This occurred today between 1PM and 2PM in the area of E 8th Ave, the dog was reported to be a brown pitbull with no collar. Next of kin notifications have been made. The Canadian and Australian Consulates have been notified of the incident. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.

On 5-12-19 at 1404 hours, Alaska State Troopers dispatch received a report of a computer stolen from a work vehicle on Showers Street in Palmer. Investigation shows someone entered the property on Showers Street sometime between 2000 hours on 5-11-19 and 1300 hours on 5-12-19 and took a Dell laptop work computer from the unlocked vehicle in the driveway. The computer is valued around $1,000. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call Trooper dispatch at 352-5401.

On 05/14/2019, at approximately 2155 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in vicinity of Rainbow Park Drive in Wasilla for a report of a Trespass. Investigation revealed that Victor Waag, age 33 of Wasilla, had previously been given a lifetime trespass notice from a family member's residence and was discovered on the property. Waag was arrested and transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded, without bail, on a charge of Criminal Trespass 1 (DV).

On May 14th, 2019 at approximately 2310 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were conducting routine patrol when a male was observed standing next to a tipped over motorcycle near Ninilchik. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Tanner Combs, age 35 of Ninilchik, for one count of Driving Under the Influence, and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Tanner was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

On 5/13/19 at approximately 0400 hours, Granite Construction reported to Soldotna AST that one of their F450 trucks had been stolen from the job site near Mile 110 of the Sterling Highway. The truck was reported to have a jersey barrier picker in the back, valued at approximately $5000. At around 0430 hours the vehicle was spotted on the Sterling Hwy and at approximately 0435 hours Soldotna AST attempted to stop the truck. The driver failed to stop and after a short pursuit the driver ditched the truck behind the Decanter Inn and fled in to the woods. The truck was recovered with no damage, but the jersey barrier picker was missing. Further investigation on 5/14/19 located the jersey barrier picker in a gravel pit off of Dorothy off Tustumena Lake Road. A suspect has been identified and investigation is continuing.

Knudsen, the captain and permit holder aboard the commercial dungeness crab vessel Curlew was cited for unlawfully storing his crab gear in closed water. Arraignment is set for May 28th at 1000 in the Petersburg District Court.

Lineni was cited for negligent feeding of wildlife when a black bear was observed by ADF&G employees feeding on Lineni’s trash that had been left out and not properly secured in a bear resistant container. Bail was set at $320.
