Pioneer Park Civic Center filled with job seekers for Career Expo

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 19th annual Career Expo took place at the Pioneer Park Civic Center Tuesday.

The event, which was put on by Explore Fairbanks, opened its doors to veterans at 10 A-M and the general public thereafter.

People were given the opportunity to speak to prospective employers, with some interviewing for jobs on the spot.

Over 60 Employers, from all branches of the military to the culinary school at the UAF Community and Technical College, were there to discuss job opportunities that are available.

Employment Services Technician for the State of Alaska, Paul Meyer, had a tip for current job seekers.

"The quickest tip I can give anybody trying to look for a job is to do your homework. Figure out what that job is that you want and set a goal for that job, and get as smart as you can for that job," said Meyer.

Although, the expo is over, anyone who needs help writing or revising a resume, can visit the Fairbanks Job Center Resource Room at 675 7th Ave or call 451-5967 for more information.
