LIVE: North Pole residents now able to sign up for expanded water system

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Residents in North Pole can now sign up to connect their home to the expanded water system in North Pole. This project is to expand the amount of residents that are able to hook up to clean water after ground contamination.

"Our primary function is to make sure that the public is protected and there is no adverse health impacts, and people aren't at risk from pollution. So we've been working with the former refinery operator, Flint Hills and the city of North Pole. To make sure there is clean water available for people," said John Halverson with the Department of Environmental Conservation.

For those who weren't able to be there, you can still sign up on North Pole city website.
