FAIRBANKS, Alaska Justin Cavanaugh was sentenced to serve 22 years, with 10 years suspended, and 10 years’ probation.

Because of time from other cases, he will end up serving 15 years in prison.

Cavanaugh pleaded guilty to attempted murder last year in connection with a robbery from 2015. Deborah Carroll, the co-defendant in the case, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and was sentenced to serve 10 years with six suspended.

Charging documents say that they lured the victim to Santa's Fireworks and attempted to rob him. Cavanaugh shot the victim once in the ribs, the man ran away, and Cavanaugh fired at him again, demanding he give up the keys to the vehicle.
