Man accused of sexually abusing a minor pleads not guilty

FAIRBANKS, Alaska Christopher Knopp, 40, of North Pole was indicted on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor, and two counts of harassment earlier this year.

Knopp entered the not guilty pleas in Fairbanks Superior Wednesday before Judge Thomas Temple. He appeared in court out of custody, and was represented by private attorney Amy Welch.

The indictment says the alleged crimes happened between August and October of 2018 against a victim who was between 13 and 18 years old.

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 25.
