Man accused of attempted murder and kidnapping to serve 6.5 years after a plea deal

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Christopher Gillaspy was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 3.5 suspended today.
Gillespy pleaded guilty earlier this year to a reduced charge of second degree assault.
He was initially charged with attempted murder and kidnapping among multiple lesser charges including robbery and assault.
Gillaspy's co-defendent, Jeffery Vaneyck pled guilty to assault 2 weapons misconduct on Monday and received a 9.5 and one day sentence.
