FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) A local marijuana shop was broken into early Thursday morning.

Brandon Gilbert co-owner of the Chena Cannabis shop said that around 1 a.m., two people kicked in the door to his shop and began to take marijuana.

He said the burglary lasted only a few minutes, and the suspects left when the alarm went off.

According to Gilbert, the suspects took around $2,000 worth of marijuana, and completely broke the door frame.

Police were able to collect finger prints and a shoe print from the shop.

Gilbert is asking anyone with information to come forward.

"Weed is pretty distinguishable when it comes to connoisseurs and people that have smoked a while,” Gilbert said. “Our packaging is similar, anything that looks astray, Fairbanks is a small town. I am sure there is people talking about it, they're bragging to their friends and this and that. And I know something is out there, any information just if they could bring forth to us or AST it would be much appreciated."
