IRS announces tax relief to earth quake victims

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The IRS has announced tax relief to people affected by the earthquake in November. According to a press release, people in Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and the Kenai Peninsula may qualify for an extension to file taxes and other documents. The IRS may also waive fees associated with the extension.

People who think they may qualify for the tax relief should call the IRS disaster hotline at 866-562-5227.
