FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Department of Transportation has finished maintenance on the Fox Spring water well and residents can go back to using the water source as normal.
As of Tuesday evening, Fox Spring has officially re-opened from repairs. Maintenance and Operations staff have completed work on the water holding tank, which was paid for by the non-profit 'Friends of Fox Spring'.
There were also improvements made to the way side, including replacement of the culvert under the path that leads to the building.
Caitlin Frye with the Department of Transportation said the well is clean and ready for visitors, “As always there's always routine testing after we do major repairs like we did to the holding tank. Those test results came back good from the Department of Environmental Conservation, so we've got the all clear and the way side should be slightly improved and the well is all repaired," she said.
