Former U.S. Senator Mark Begich is considering another run - this time for governor.
In an email to supporters today, Begich let Alaskans know he's considering a gubernatorial campaign in 2018, and he wants their input about whether they think it's a good idea.
If Begich decides to get into the race, it will be at least a three-way battle.
Governor Bill Walker recently announced he'll be running for re-election as an independent, and Wasilla state senator Mike Dunleavy has declared his candidacy as a Republican.
Begich isn't the only Democrat who announced he's pondering a run today - Anchorage state senator Bill Wielechowski says if no candidate who shares his values announces a run, he'll join the race himself.
