Dametrey Rice, 26, of Fairbanks was sentenced for his involvement in a 2017 robbery that ended in a standoff. He was sentenced to time served, which amounted to 6 months.
Rice was originally charged with kidnapping, second degree assault, first-degree robbery, and two counts of burglary, among other charges.
Rice, and several others were charged after they broke into a business and tied up the owner, assaulting him in the process. They then engaged in a standoff with police that ended without incident.
Rice was given a plea deal in exchange for his willingness to testify against his accomplices.
He pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree assault, and all other charges were dropped.
All parties appeared in court telephonically as the court continues to take precautions due to COVID-19.
