Fairbanks man dead after automobile accident

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers responded to an automobile accident in North Pole on Sunday night. According to Troopers, 33-year-old Bryce Benson of Fairbanks lost control of his vehicle when he hit an ice patch on Nelson road. The vehicle was reportedly moving at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. The truck slid off the roadway and into a nearby tree lining.Benson was ejected from the vehicle, and first responders found him underneath his truck.

He was transported to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries. Officials report he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
