Fairbanks, local mayors celebrate Bill of Rights day

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Saturday is Bill of Rights Day, a nationally recognized day to celebrate the day that the document went into effect. Fairbanks held celebrations this week to honor Bill of Rights Day. At the Fairbanks City Council meeting on Monday night, boy scouts read the Bill of Rights while at the Borough Assembly meeting on Thursday night, the same reading was performed by West Valley students from Ms. Gallaway's government class.

Borough Mayor Bryce Ward read a proclamation signed by all three local mayors, from the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Fairbanks City, and city of North Pole, to designate December 15 as Bill of Rights Day.
