FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Garage sale season is in full swing and whether you are looking to deplete your belongings or add to them, there are options out there.
One opportunity is at the Tanana Valley State Fair Grounds this weekend.
A community garage sale, hosted in the Borealis Building, will continue Saturday at 9 a.m. after one session Friday.
Ten by Ten spaces are available for $25 to any looking to declutter and sell their possessions.
This is the first community garage sale put on by the Tanana Valley State Fair, and will likely become an anual event, according to coordinators.
Executive Director Mahla Strohmaier discussed why the Tanana Valley State Fair decided to host the event.
"We are reviving the fair, we are re-engerizing. Strohmaier said. "I have been in Fairbanks all my life and I miss the fair as it used to be. It is a whole new staff, we are working toward being a vital part of the community again. So lets bring people in and have the garage sale."
The garage sale will conclude Saturday at 4 p.m.
