FDA opens last show of the season with ‘Nunsense’

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Old habits die hard in the Fairbanks Drama Association's production of 'Nunsense'. The musical comedy focuses on the often hilarious misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser after four members of their sisterhood died from food poisoning. The remaining nuns include a ballet-loving Sister Leo, street-wise Sister Robert Anne, befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, the Mother Superior Sister Regina, and mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert. The sisterhood stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed. "The play explores themes of sisterhood, solidarity, the potential of miracles. The whole point of this is that funny is such a good thing. Comedy is a wonderful thing. And, the best of all, it will totally uplift you. It will uplift you,” said 'Nunsense' Director, Peggy Ferguson. ‘Nunsense’ will close out the 56th season for the Fairbanks Drama Association. It will run for three weekends starting Friday, March 22 and ending Sunday, April 7. More information for times and ticket prices can be found at www.fairbanksdrama.org.
