Dodge concedes mayoral race to Matherly after official election results announced

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) All of the absentee ballots and questioned ballots were counted today and the official results were released for the 2019 Fairbanks North Star Borough Municipal Election. Absentee and questioned ballots for the Fairbanks North Star Borough, City of Fairbanks, and North Pole were reviewed and then counted.

Candidates were at the borough assembly chambers to watch the count to see if there were any upsets but there were not. Kathryn Dodge was there to watch the results come in and after they did, conceded victory to Mayor Jim Matherly. "I want to say thank you to the voters, thank you to volunteers, and supporters, and I wish Mayor Matherly and the council good luck and success, because their success is our success as a community," said Dodge.
