DOT says watch out for poor road conditions on Parks, Dalton Highway

As residents travel for the holidays, the Department of Transportation is urging drivers to use caution.

As of 2 p.m. Monday, drivers should take care when traveling on the Dalton Highway and Parks Highway.

On the Dalton Highway from Mile Post 360 to Mile Post 390, drivers can expect hazardous driving conditions, Wind, poor visibility, blowing snow, and snow on roadway.

On the Parks Highway from mile post 216 to mile post 217, there is a lane closure due to tow vehicles in the road. Drivers should expect flaggers and equipment in the road and delays.

DOT also advises no driving on the Denali Highway or the Taylor Highway as these roads have no winter maintenance.
