Caribou Creek Fire mostly contained

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Good news from the Division of Forestry, The Caribou Creek Fire east of Fairbanks has been 80% contained as of Saturday morning. The fire began on June 16th and consumed 257 acres. The cause of the fire is believed to be a lightning storm. According to the department, 105 firefighters are working on the blaze, which is roughly 7 miles north of Chena Hot Springs Road. Crews are now checking for hot spots, but officials believe the wildfire has lost most of its momentum.
